Tough Day

Fished with Joe. Temperature this morning was in the lower 70's and when we quit fishing it was in the lower 80's. The wind was light and variable which made it feel extremely hot. There were no waves today, just flat water where ever you looked. The water temp is 82 degrees. Started fishing by Turtle Island and the catching was very slow. Caught a few short walleye and only 2 keeper walleye. We pulled lines and headed into the swamp to try it there. We set up with wiggle warts set at 30 feet back. We never caught a fish. Pulled lines and headed towards the dumping grounds. We fished the south side of the dump with wiggle warts set at 60 and 70 feet back. We caught a couple of walleye but the fishing was slow. We put junior thunder sticks  on one side of the boat and that might helped a little bit. We decided to quit fishing early to be the charter boats in the cleaning station which worked out perfect. Kept 7 walleye and 2 perch. We sat on the beach again today and enjoyed our lunch.
