Still Walleye Fishing

Fished with Joe. Temperature this morning was in the upper 40s and when we quit fishing it was in the upper 60s. The wind was out of the north 5 to 10 knots with hardly and waves. The water temp is 72 degrees. Wasn't sure how the walleye fishing would be after the blow over the weekend so we stopped and bought 1 scoop of minnows just in case. On the positive side I was hoping to limit out on walleye and do some perch jerking. Started trolling where we left off on the last trip running wiggle warts at 100 feet back on one side of the boat and 70 feet on the other side. Had some very good marks on the fish finder but could not hook up any fish. Made some passes at different angles and we finally caught a walleye off the 100 foot set up so we put both sides at 100 feet back. Made some more passes on the same line and we would catch a walleye, not great fishing but just enough to keep us in the area. Started to run out of time so we made a troll towards port and we started to catch some fish. Caught most of the walleye just east of the E Buoy. Kept 11 walleye, lost 2 behind the boat, had 1 small walleye that was released and only caught a couple of junk fish. Just another nice day on the water. While we were fishing today a mayfly landed on the bow of the boat, never saw one in September before!
